Key Details for Trogyl Suspension
Composition: Primarily contains Metronidazole, an imidazole derivative that acts against microorganisms by inhibiting DNA synthesis.
Common Uses: Treatment of amoebiasis (intestinal and extra-intestinal), giardiasis, trichomoniasis (vaginitis), and, when combined (often as Trogyl Plus), it treats mixed anaerobic infections, dental infections, and helps prevent post-operative infections.
Administration: It is an oral liquid, generally taken 2 to 3 times a day, often for 5-10 days depending on the infection.
Side Effects: Potential, though not universal, side effects include nausea, vomiting, metallic taste, headache, dark urine, and stomach cramps.
