Podosal Paint (10ml/10g) is a prescription-only, topical, flammable solution containing 20% w/w podophyllum resin in benzoin tincture. It is used to treat external anogenital warts (condylomata acuminata) and common skin warts by inhibiting cell division (antimitotic), causing them to destroy, wither, and slough off.
Key Details and Usage
Composition: 20% Podophyllum resin.
Indication: External genital, perianal, and sometimes plantar warts.
Application: Apply to the wart (not surrounding skin) using the applicator, twice daily for 3 days, followed by a 4-day rest, often repeated weekly.
Precautions: Avoid eyes, mouth, nose, and healthy skin. It is not for use on bleeding warts, birthmarks, or by pregnant/breastfeeding individuals.
Side Effects: Burning, irritation, itching, and redness at the site.
